Dear Judge Putnam,
I enclose some notes on my 1912 Rode glacier expedition which I should be pleased to have read at the dinner of the American Alpine Club in Dec. (If you deem them fit) and afterwards inserted in the next number of Appalachia when it appears. Am sending to Amer. Geog. So the same note for their paper.
Judging from the letters of condolence I received and the 500 press cuttings there was quite a sensation caused in America Eng. And the continent over Renter’s telegram reporting death of “Hunter Workman mountain climber.” They mmight at least have said explorer! Well we are back here in health and I am greatly pleased and satisfied with the fine success of my 1912 expedition. It was a very long difficult one in all ways and I lost one porter entirely through his own carelessness, but we were favored with very fine weather at times which was an immense help. The map, which I put great stress on, will I expect be a fine one.
Hoping you and Mrs. Putnam are well and wishing you both a happy Christmas I am with [indecipherable] regards yours sincerely,
Fanny Bullock Workman
