WHEREAS apparently exaggerated reports have recently been circulated by the press of the country regarding the altitude of Mt. Huascaran in the Peruvian Andes, tending to disseminate erroneous ideas concerning mountain geography.
RESOLVED That in view of this Club's special interest in the subject, a Committee of the Society be appointed to secure what possible information may be attained regarding this great mountain and taking such measures as may seem to them expedient to make public the result of their inquiry."
